Buyer's guide · Checked September 2026

Best flooring software in the UK (2026): an honest buyer's guide

There's no single best flooring software, only the best fit for the way your business wins and runs work. This guide covers what to look for, then profiles eleven options side by side, using each supplier's own website.

Disclosure: BillyBot is our product. It's included below and clearly labelled. Everything we say about other products comes from their own websites, checked on 13 September 2026, with sources listed at the bottom. Features and prices change, so confirm details with each supplier before you decide. Product names are trade marks of their owners, and BillyBot isn't affiliated with any of them.

Start with the kind of flooring business you run

The right software depends on where your week goes. Decide which of these sounds most like you; plenty of businesses are a mix.

Domestic fitter or small fitting firm

You measure, quote and fit, often from the van. Prioritise fast quotes on your own rates, cutting maths you trust, a diary, and invoices that reach your accounts without re-typing.

Flooring shop or showroom

You sell from a showroom and send estimators out. Prioritise estimating in the store and the customer's home, stock and remnants, deposits and a fitting diary. Shop-focused systems are built around this.

Commercial contractor

You price from drawings, specifications and bills of quantities. Prioritise PDF take-off, cost-plus or rates-based pricing, CIS and domestic reverse charge VAT, and keeping up with tender emails.

What to look for, and what to ask

Every brochure promises to save you time. These questions show whether a system will work for your jobs.

Quotes on your own prices

Can it hold your supplier prices, markups and labour rates, and price a real job without re-keying? See how to quote a flooring job.

Estimating from drawings

Can it take off areas from a PDF drawing, and let you check every room before a price goes out? More on flooring estimating software.

Cutting plans and roll widths

Does it compare roll widths, handle stairs and pile direction, and give fitters a plan to cut from? See cutting plan software.

Diary and fitting

Can you book surveys and fittings against the job, and do fitters hear when their day changes?

Email and enquiries

Most work arrives by email. Does the software work from your inbox, or does someone copy every enquiry in by hand?

Accounting integration

Does it send invoices into Xero, Sage or QuickBooks, and can you check each one before it's posted?

Mobile for fitters

Is there a proper fitter app, does each fitter cost extra, and does it cope without signal on site?

What the customer sees

A clear quote, an easy way to accept it, and online deposits if you take them.

Price and terms

Per user, per site or per seat? Check minimum terms, add-ons and data export, not just the headline price.

The options, profiled

Grouped by what each product is built to do. Descriptions, audiences and prices come from each supplier's own website, checked on 13 September 2026.

AI operator for the office side (our product)

AI operator · Our product

BillyBot

An AI operator that runs the office side of a flooring business, from first enquiry to final invoice. Built by a flooring business, on 20 years of running one.

What it does
Works from your Gmail or Outlook inbox, turning enquiries into jobs and drafting replies for you to approve. Quotes on your own prices from a voice note, an email, a floor plan or tender documents. Cutting plans, diary and RAMS. Quotes and invoices go into Xero, Sage or QuickBooks when you confirm, or out as PDFs. Web app plus iPhone and Android apps.
Published pricing
£149 per office seat a month excluding VAT, no feature tiers; fitters free; annual billing saves two months; each seat includes one inbox, extra inboxes £89 a month. 14-day free trial.
Worth knowing
It isn't a shop till, and it costs more than entry-level quoting tools. Nothing enters your accounts without your confirmation, and customer emails wait for your approval unless you switch on auto-send.

How to run a fair trial

A demo shows software at its best. Your own jobs show whether it works for you.

1

Pick three real jobs

Choose recent jobs you've already priced: one simple, one awkward (stairs, several rooms, mixed floors) and one you lost.

2

Price them on your real costs

Load your actual supplier prices and rates, then compare quantities, cuts, waste and totals against what you sent.

3

Look from both ends

Check the quote your customer receives, and what your fitter sees on their phone on the day of the fit.

4

Check the paperwork and the exit

See how an invoice reaches your accounts, and read the minimum term, add-ons and how you'd export your data if you left.

Where BillyBot fits, and where it doesn't

Several products above now use AI for specific tasks, such as reading room sketches or answering calls. BillyBot is built around a broader idea: Billy handles the office work from first enquiry to final invoice, and you approve what goes out. See how that works for quoting, estimating from drawings, cutting plans, job management and the fitting diary.

It suits a flooring business that loses evenings to enquiries, quotes and email, and wants to grow without adding an office wage. It isn't the right fit if you mainly need a shop till, or if a lower-cost tool already covers your week: PlanIt's free plan, FloorQuoter and CarpetCutPro all publish lower monthly prices for flooring quotes and cutting plans. Best flooring software UK: FAQ

It depends on the business. Flooring shops usually need stock, deposits and a fitting diary, which Carman, Company Dynamics and The Flooring Platform are built around. Fitters and estimators who mainly need fast quotes and cutting plans can compare MasterPiece, PlanIt Flooring, FloorQuoter and CarpetCutPro. If your bottleneck is office work (enquiries, quotes, email and invoices), BillyBot, our product, is built to do that work for you. Trial two or three on real jobs before you decide.

PlanIt Flooring has a free plan for one user with 10 quotes a month, and TradeMore by Checkatrade has a free plan for one user, though it isn't built for flooring specifically. Most others offer a free trial: 14 days for FloorQuoter, Tradify, Fergus and BillyBot, and 30 days for MasterPiece. CarpetCutPro has a 7-day money-back guarantee. Checked on their websites in September 2026.

Estimating in the showroom and in the customer's home with roll and pack calculations, stock and remnants, deposits and balances, a fitting diary your fitters can see on their phones, and invoices that reach your accounts without re-typing. Ask each supplier how a customer pays a deposit online, and what happens to stock when a quote is accepted.

Of the products in this guide, MasterPiece, PlanIt Flooring, FloorQuoter, CarpetCutPro and BillyBot all describe cutting or roll planning on their websites, so check which plan includes it. Tradify, Fergus and TradeMore serve many kinds of business, so check how they handle roll widths and cuts before relying on them for carpet or sheet vinyl.

According to their websites: Tradify syncs with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks; Fergus connects with Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB; Carman can export to Sage, Xero and QuickBooks; PlanIt offers a Xero-ready invoice export on its Business and Commercial plans; and Company Dynamics has its own integrated accounts. BillyBot sends quotes and invoices into Xero, Sage or QuickBooks when you confirm them, and can bring your customer list across.

Published prices checked in September 2026 run from free plans to several hundred pounds a month: CarpetCutPro £25 a month; FloorQuoter £19 to £79 plus VAT; MasterPiece's base system £41; Tradify from £34 and Fergus from £39 per user; PlanIt from £19 per user to £299 for its Commercial plan (from 1 October 2026, excluding VAT); TradeMore free or from £50 excluding VAT; and BillyBot £149 per office seat excluding VAT, with fitters free. Carman, Company Dynamics and The Flooring Platform don't publish prices. Compare what each plan includes, not just the price.
