Two UK products aimed at flooring businesses, built for different jobs. PlanIt Flooring measures, optimises, quotes and runs a shop counter. BillyBot runs the office side, from first enquiry to final invoice. Here is what each does, what PlanIt charges, and which fits you.

PlanIt Flooring is a well-made tool that you drive. You map the rooms, run the optimiser, check the margin and send the quote; on its shop plan you also ring the sale through the till. Fast, priced low at the entry end, and clearly written by someone who knows the job.
BillyBot goes at the same week from the other end. It reads the inbox, turns enquiries into jobs, prices quotes on your own supplier prices and labour rates, drafts the reply, prepares the invoice for Xero, Sage or QuickBooks, writes the RAMS and nudges you about quotes gone quiet — all for your approval, never behind your back.
So the honest question is not which is better software, but whether the hours you lose go on building the quote or on everything around it. If it is the first, PlanIt may be all you need. If it is the second, a faster calculator will not fix it.
PlanIt Flooring Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 17301169. Its story page says the founder spent years delivering technology for large listed businesses, then in February 2025 bought a 50% share in a flooring business with a trade counter, showroom and commercial contracts, and built PlanIt for that shop first. Two products, run alone or together.
Rooms are mapped by photographing a site sketch, uploading a floor plan or PDF, or speaking the sizes out loud. A 2D nesting optimiser plans every room, stair and landing across 2 m, 3 m, 4 m and 5 m widths for carpet and sheet vinyl, keeps pile direction consistent and lets you move the seams, with waste and margin updating as you build. Stairs, winders, landings and bullnose steps are their own pieces, gripper is automatic, and uplift and prep can be priced per m². Out comes a branded PDF quote, a fitter cutting sheet, a customer accept link and a deposit request, with a CRM pipeline, fitting diary, profit analysis per m², van stock, CIS and reverse charge VAT around it.
A quick-sale till on one key, barcode scanning, card and cash, stock as rolls, remnants, batches and colours, supplier purchase orders, trade accounts and statements, automatic invoice chasing, cash-up and Z reports, refunds and credit notes, multi-till, a fitter portal, a customer portal and an in-app assistant called Ask PlanIt. Its reports list a Xero-ready invoice export.
PlanIt says openly that it is flooring-only by design. Its site does not publish inbound email handling, an assistant that drafts replies from your inbox, Sage or QuickBooks integration, RAMS or COSHH documents, payroll or rotas, or App Store and Google Play apps — the mobile app installs from the browser instead. Its pricing page rules out white-labelling at any price, while putting your own logo and terms on every document from the cheapest paid plan up.

Annual billing gives two months free. Three-month minimum, then monthly rolling, cancelled in the app. The estimating trial runs on the full Professional plan with no card and ends at 14 days or your third completed quote; PlanIt says the Business, Commercial and standalone EPOS trials take a card at sign-up, with nothing charged until the trial ends. Yes. PlanIt's Free plan is £0 for one user, with unlimited rooms and measuring, the full roll and cut optimiser, cutting plans, a customer accept link and up to 10 PDF quotes a calendar month, carrying a made with PlanIt badge. Its site says a lapsed or cancelled subscription drops back to the Free plan rather than being deleted.
PlanIt's plan comparison lists a Xero-ready invoice export on Business and Commercial, described as the bookkeeper importing rather than re-keying. Sage and QuickBooks are not listed. BillyBot prepares quotes and invoices for Xero, Sage or QuickBooks and sends them across only when you confirm, and produces branded PDFs if you use no accounting software.
PlanIt's mobile app installs from the browser on iPhone and Android rather than from an app store: its site says choose Install, or Add to Home Screen on iPhone, and it runs full screen, works offline and syncs when the signal returns. BillyBot has a web app plus iPhone and Android apps on the App Store and Google Play, free for fitters.
Both go at tender work from different ends. PlanIt puts tender comparison, value engineering, QS-style rate build-ups and pack take-off on its Commercial plan, from £299 a month for 10 seats. BillyBot reads tender packs on every seat, prices the bill of quantities on your own rates and states plainly what it could not read. If your bottleneck is the volume of enquiries rather than the take-off, that is the difference to test.
No. Billy prepares and brings it to you: replies, quotes and invoices wait for your approval. You can switch on auto-send for emails, and tick a box to chase a quiet quote. Nothing reaches Xero, Sage or QuickBooks without your confirmation, and a customer payment link only appears once you have connected card payments.
